Founded in 2017, Co-Impact is a global philanthropic organization focused on building just and equitable systems. The organization supports building local collaborative capacity through long term grants which move “beyond singular interventions and allow partners to focus on deep systemic change”.
The organization believes that transformative change cannot happen without focusing on women, and emphasizes elevating their power, leadership and agency at all levels. To fulfil this mission, Co-Impact set up the Gender Fund. The fund identifies 13 focus countries, including India, where it aims to support academic institutions, organizations, civil society groups and feminist movements working on the ground to advance gender equity and improve women’s representation across all systems.
Our project “Fixing the Leak: Advancing STEM Innovation and Inclusion in India, One Woman Scientist at a Time” was one of the grant recipients awarded under this initiative, to conduct research as well as to propose evidence-based interventions in improving outcomes for women in STEM, over a period of 5 years.
